The climibing robot research was originated from Robotics lab of CNUY, with initial application in infrasctructure inspection, and expanded to the application in other industies as well as being combined with drone solution with the support of DOT, NSF and NREL later on. For wind turbine, we mainly do rotor blade inspection at this moment. we worked closely with national renewable energy laboratory (NREL) and Massachusetts clean energy center for that matter. With the combination of drone and climbing robot inpection, we are able to perform task much faster and check the internal defect when needed.
